In memory of Don Rodgers, BaRay offers a $500 scholarship to a junior showman participating in current and prior year shows. One winner will be selected according to the following criteria:

1. Exhibit in a minimum of four all-breed junior showmanship competitions in the current and/or prior year;

2. Be enrolled as a Junior or a Senior in high school for the current and/or prior school year;

3. Submit an essay to BaRay Events no later than November 20 of the current year stating GPA (as of end of school in June in current year), plus participation in school activities, dog-related activities, and community activities.

The winner will be chosen based on the essays, and announced at the Western Washington Cluster each year in January. Scholarships are for higher education only. Once the Junior is enrolled, the scholarship will be paid to their school. If the scholarship money is not claimed within four years after graduation from high school, it will be retained and re-offered by BaRay.
